Guld Ball

I have a confession to make. While I love painting, I am a pretty horrible gamer, that being said one thing I suck at even more is sports. So what would be a worse idea than me playing sports, but instead a sports based miniature game. Over the years I have tried to play sportsball games, painted numerous Bloodbowl armies, and even tried Mantic's Dreadball. Either no one was playing, not knowing the rules against very versed opponents were all barriers to play. Also I never liked the quality of the minis available they were either Restic in the case of Mantic or uninspired.    I introduce to you....GUILD BALL.

Apparently this game has been around for a while (year plus) and is a rugby like soccer game. Our LGS has picked up this game and it is selling like hotcakes.

Pros:

The miniatures are metal and the sculpts are beautiful.
They do not look like a thing like a sports teams, I already had a guy buy my Fishermen for his RPG and has no intention to play the game.
You only need a few miniatures to play.

The mechanics are pretty simple utilizing resource management ala Warmachine focus mechanics and buckets of dice looking for an amount of successes of the dice.
Models are very durable, it is impossible for a model to be "one shotted" as they can in Malifaux, 40k, X-wing, etc..."

Not much of a post this week, I am still reeling from the post Wedding Chaos. She showed up and said "I Do," so the poor girl is stuck with me. I wanted to show off some models that are going live on Ebay tomorrow. I will return soon with my own brand of sarcasm and game talk. Thanks for listening.

No real theme today, I just want to post pictures of guys in armor and a bard to sing about them. Most of these are Reaper figures except for the one resin GF9 figure. For obvious reasons I like how the tiefling turned out.

To Infinity....and what the hell...BEYOND

I do not claim to be the biggest anime fan around. I can appreciate the aesthetic when done well. That being said I really enjoy Infinity models. I played Ariadna back in the day as I picked a ton of them up in a trade. I moved on to Haqislam but with the release of the Operation Icestorm Boxed set and a trade I did Pan O and Nomads. I also did USAridana because I have no willpower and werewolves.

I love free models. I did a demo at Gencon one year and was given this figure. I wanted to attempt an arctic look.

Best part about Ariadna is being able to mess with various camo schemes

In my previous post I espoused my love of the female form and enjoyment of the improbable fantasy armor/costume design. I make no apologies for that, if I offended you...take a number and a tissue.

I do enjoy sensible armor and I have been known to paint minis that go in to battle dressed for the occasion. Enjoy.
